MPHS Meeting Minutes

November 3rd, 2025

Machesney  Park Historical Society held it's first luncheon meeting at 12:00 at  Robin's Nest Cafe. The purpose of the meeting was to enter into an  agreement with Wings & Wheels to purchase an airplane formerly owned  by Fred Machesney. Purchase price had been negotiated to $20k and Barry  presented a check in the amount of $5k to the President of Wings &  Wheels to begin the transfer process. Wings & Wheels presented Barry  with posters and a banner that had been used for their  past museum  display. Kevin interviewed attendees individually during the meeting.  Discussion was held regarding temporary public display of the airplane  pending permanent display at our future Machesney Museum & Visitor  Center property.

The  meeting was adjourned and Kevin, Barry and Stephen met at the property  for further discussion and photographs. There will be an article  regarding our meeting in the Rock River Current in the immediate future.  Barry attended the Machesney  Village Trustee meeting in the evening,  introduced himself as President of the newly forming Historical Society  and appealed to those present to help collect items of historic interest  so that so that they may be preserved in our museum.

Until  further notice, future luncheon meetings of the Historical Society  Membership will be held on the 1st Monday of each month and meetings of  the Advisory Board will be held on the 3rd Monday of each month at 12:00  at Robin's Nest Cafe. Plans are being made for regular evening meetings  so that those who are working during the daytime may attend.
